Dramatic downpour necessitated new waterproof trousers in Padstow. We followed the camel estuary past the doombar sand bank. Soggy and hot, sheltering whilst taking off waterproofs in a hill top tower, confusion reigned; got lost again!
The path crossed seven wonderful sandy iconic Cornish beaches linked by moorland cliff tops; the flowers were really lovely. Warmer weather and we would have been spoilt for choice! Thankfully it was easier walking; my ankle‘s sore.
Driving rain meant lunch at Trevone beach cafe. In the blustery sunshine we passed the RNLI lifeboat station and light house (1847) having work done before succumbing to ice cream at the top of Treyarnon bay. (Rhubarb and clotted cream; delicious).
As we headed from Porthcothan bay up to the BnB an escorted wide load pinned us to the hedge! Not what you expect on a tiny Cornish lane.
No cream tea, but we’ve discovered Cornish pasties!
