Day 3: Lynton to Coombe Martin Vertiginous slopes; Valleys; 360 Vistas & Views

The sunshine accompanied us to the Valley of Rocks along a nice easy path; we even spied the goats clinging to the cliffs. We followed the spectacular coastline, as the (no longer easy) path clung far too close to the edge up and down the vertiginous cliffs and valleys to the highest point Great Hangman (1043ft). Vertigo got the better of me, without a helping hand I’d still be panicking, and have missed the breathtaking views! We could just make out Wales across the Bristol channel at the end. Mountain goat I am not!

Lovely sunset. No phone signal (nice actually) until … What’s this in my pocket? Last night’s room key!!!

A welcome detour to Cream tea no 2. Rating 6 Hunters Inn (sacrilege whipped cream! good presentation)

Official SW Coast path: 13miles

Official running total: 34miles

Absolute sacrilege, whipped cream in a cream tea. That's not right.
